End of First Semester at Ringling

2D Landscape painting

Doing some outdoor landscape painting for 2D design class.  Some days I wish I was in illustration... but, oh well.  Ultimately, my goal (as of now) is to work somewhere in lighting for animation (since color & color theory are my favorite :)  New figure updates coming.

Lost Sketchbook

So I lost my new little blue sketchbook which had me pretty down for the last few days.  It had some of my more favorite figures that I've done recently... but, oh well, time to start a new sketchbook and move on.  In the meantime I've been sneaking into the illustration labs and learning a whole bunch about new techniques and stuff.  I even made my first digital painting in color :) and no, I didn't use color-picking.

Mid-term grading has most of my class stuff held up but I'll post some of it soon enough.

First Digital Painting!

So I did my first digital painting last weekend... I've been rather slow on the upload side of this and debating how much of my personal art to post up.  It's crazy how Ringling has us doing so much art homework that once I finish I just can't wait to do my personal artwork.  Besides that, the library is practically my second home right now.  :)

I've been getting way more into digital painting lately, so I'll be posting a lot more of that to come, but here it is, my first digital 10 min sketch (it's my lovely roommate):

Ringling: home sweet home.

Life at Ringling has been a whirlwind so far and I can hardly believe I'm already two weeks in.  I accomplished my goal this summer of filling up a whole sketchbook, and I'm already halfway through another one here at Ringling.

We've been doing some crazy cool stuff here so far... well, except for a few abstract projects that I failed, I love my classes here overall.  I'm also doing a middle eastern-themed project for perspective which I'm uber excited about.

And... the people here are amazing.  Seriously.  Amazing.

Graduated

Finally, diploma in hand, I can say that I'm now a graduated senior, class of 2011.  :D YAY.  Now on to Ringling!!!

Blah.

It's that time of year--senioritis.  The moment where creativity ebbs away and leaves nothing but a useless, groaning zombie.
So... nothing creative has been on the rise, just the need to finish and get my diploma.

These are a few things included into my CA portfolio this year.  Unfortunately didn't get much time to add any new pieces during the year because of a hectic senior schedule... but I'm happy enough with what I had, and I got accepted, woohoo!!  So here's to Ringling Computer Animation, class of 2015!
